Mahurangi Hearing is an independent, locally owned hearing clinic. This means we are not owned by a hearing aid company, nor do we have preferred-supplier contracts with hearing aid companies. We can therefore provide you with the most up-to-date solutions on the market across all major brands.

Monica Boone - Audiologist
CCC MNZAS BSc(Hons) MAud(Hons)

Monica is the charge audiologist and owner of Mahurangi Hearing. She is a member of the NZ Audiological Society and the Independent Audiology Society. She trained at the University of Auckland specialising in Biomedical Science and worked as a medical researcher in the field of immunotherapy. Her interest in health science and desire to work with people led her into the exciting and ever-improving field of Audiology. She gained a Masters in Audiology with a special interest in tinnitus and the latest evidence-based treatment for tinnitus.

Monica has worked in Warkworth as an audiologist and clinic manager for the last 4 years and is excited to now be branching out on her own. She has made her home in Mahurangi and loves this beautiful region. "I am so lucky to be in a job where I can help people overcome the frustration and isolation of hearing loss and reconnect with their world through better hearing". Her goal is to provide the very highest standard of patient-centered care.

Chrissy Cadwallader - Registered Nurse & Ear Nurse

Christine (Chrissy) has worked as a Registered Nurse for
over 30 years. She has experience working in hospitals in Tamarunui, Auckland and London. She and her family moved to Warkworth just over 20 years ago where her children completed all their schooling. For the last 17 years she has worked as a Practice Nurse in Warkworth and this year started working at the Mahurangi Hearing Clinic. "I am enjoying a role where I can continue to use my
experience in a wonderful community and work with a team that offers a highly professional and friendly service."
