Mahurangi Hearing is an independent, locally owned hearing clinic. This means we are not owned by a hearing aid company, nor do we have preferred-supplier contracts with hearing aid companies. We can therefore provide you with the most up-to-date solutions on the market across all major brands.

Miriam Aquino

We are delighted to welcome Miriam to the Mahurangi Hearing team. Having recently relocated from Bay Audiology in Palmerston North, Miriam brings valuable experience in adult hearing assessment, hearing aid technology, and rehabilitation. Her additional background in pharmacy adds a broader healthcare perspective to her clinical work. With a Master’s degree in Clinical Audiology, she is committed to delivering personalised, evidence-based care.

Miriam enjoys taking the time to understand each patient’s individual needs and helping them reconnect with the people and sounds that matter most.

Monica established Mahurangi Hearing five years ago in order to provide independent, patient-centred hearing care for the local community.

After beginning her career in IT and then medical research, Monica found a new passion in helping people reconnect with family, friends, and the world around them through better hearing. As a Mahurangi local, she is committed to providing exceptional, independent hearing care with a genuine focus on each patient's individual needs.

Monica is now focused on leading the practice and supporting the clinical team.
